Design Apprentice

Are you passionate about STEM and looking to kick-start your career in civil engineering design? We’re looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join a team as a Civil Engineering Design Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills while contributing to some of the South Coast’s most exciting and complex infrastructure projects.

The role is with a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of delivering innovative and sustainable projects, including coastal defences, river walls, natural habitats, and water infrastructure. Their work shapes the environment and communities around us — and we’re looking for someone who wants to be a part of that.

You’ll support the technical modelling and design functions across various projects. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in civil engineering, excellent communication skills, and a desire to learn and grow in a professional environment.

Key Duties:
• Liaise with engineers, surveyors, and stakeholders to gather and coordinate technical information.
• Assist in creating accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, and project schedules.
• Learn and apply industry software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Visit active construction sites to gain first-hand experience of how projects are built.
• Support clients in understanding the value of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and contribute to developing BIM strategies.
