Design Project Manager

We are recruiting a Design Project Manager to lead the delivery of civil design at Havant Thicket Reservoir. This is the first new reservoir of its kind in over 30 years, designed to protect some of the UK’s rarest chalk streams and secure the region’s future water supply. The project is being delivered through a Joint Venture and includes major earthworks, ecological enhancements, reinforced concrete structures, pipelines, buildings, and MEICA works.

With a minimum of three more years on this project and further exciting works in the local area including coastal and flood protection, defence projects, and wider water infrastructure schemes. This is a long-term opportunity with a business that has a prestigious track record across the UK and Europe in water and marine civil engineering.

Design Project Manager Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate the civil design programme with input from project programmers.
• Oversee internal and client design reviews and drive outcomes.
• Manage design interfaces, assess risk, and ensure constructability and cost-efficiency.
• Support the construction team on temporary works and buildability reviews.
• Deliver design outputs in a BIM environment and ensure all client deliverables are met.
• Conduct site surveys and engage with operations and maintenance staff.
• Respond to client feedback, coordinate stakeholders, and support through to commissioning.
• Provide effective commercial engagement to manage risk and performance.

The role is suited to a technically strong, site-experienced professional with a passion for complex civil engineering.
