Senior QS

Our client is a well-established family-run civil engineering contractor based in East Sussex. Due to continued success and project wins, they are growing their team and have an immediate requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their offices in East Sussex. Projects are primarily in the water and highways sectors, typically ranging in value from £20k – £3m. The Senior QS will have responsibility for the full project lifecycle, getting involved at tender stage utilising their contract knowledge, right through to final accounting and they will have support from more junior QS’s, whilst collaborating with the operational and support teams.

The role involves:
• Project valuations
• Change control and compensation events
• Subcontractor procurement
• Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR)
• Early warning notices
• Risk register updates
• Monthly commercial reporting
• Cash flow forecasting
• Subcontractor payment processes
• Dispute resolution
• Final accounts
• Mentoring junior Surveyors

Role requirements:
• HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying OR by experience
• Strong working knowledge of NEC4 Options A & E and JCT forms of contract
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
• A background of working for a Tier 2 contractor
• Full driving licence
• Happy to travel to sites and/or off-site meetings as required
